Vishnu Mandir’s Lakshmi Sabha is a dynamic group of women united to work towards the enrichment of women, children and seniors in the South Asian community. In many different capacities, it has existed since the Temple’s inception in 1977. At the moment there are 4 Team Leaders- Shama Singh, Omo Persaud, Leila Singh & Rani Sethi. Jayanti Ramkumar is Secretary & Rohini Sanaichar is the Treasurer.

The Lakshmi Sabha was established to work towards the betterment of Women, Seniors & Children in the South Asian Community. We run a month long Summer Camp for the children in our Community.

This group is currently headed by 5 Team Leaders together with a number of very dedicated women of the Temple. The group has grown in strength and numbers over the past years and currently has 30 active members.

One of the team leaders heads the annual Summer Camp with the assistance of the Temple’s youths, other members in the Lakshmi Sabha and some Temple devotees. The Camp initially started as a 2 week program and now runs throughout the whole month of July. The Lakshmi Sabha also runs an Annual March Break Camp which only started in 2006.

Another of the team leaders heads the Seniors Group. This group meets on a bi-monthly basis to socialize with other seniors & have a fun afternoon. In the Summer time they go on picnics, lunch at their favorite restaurants & generally have a nice time together.

In addition, the Group conducts regular Seminars on various Medical and Health issues for example diabetes, heart issues, arthritis, breast cancer. Medical specialists in their respective fields are invited to conduct these Seminars offering advice, support and preventative information to all attendees.

Finally, The Lakshmi Sabha is actively involved in all aspects of the Temple’s programs and Festivals from the planning stages to the actual implementation. Such events include Holi celebrations, Divali Dinner and seniors’ Day. The group is always willing, and readily available to assist in any capacity at the Temple.

The Lakshmi Sabha is actively involved in all aspects of the Temple's Programmes including Holi, Diwali, Seniors Day and all other Religious events. We are involved in the actual planning to the final implementation of all such events.

The Lakshmi Sabha sponsors weekend & day trips for seniors & other Temple devotees.

Devotees visit other Temples in USA & Canadian cities. These trips also include other fun activities which are enjoyed by all.

The Lakshmi Sabha is truly dedicated in serving our community and Temple. With the hard work and dedication the group displays, it will certainly continue to grow and prosper for the well-being of the Vishnu Mandir.
