There are ten avatars of Vishnu (dashavatara) commonly considered as the most prominent:

1.Matsya, the fish.
2.Kurma, the turtle.
3.Varaha, the boar.
4.Narasimha, the Man-Lion (Nara = man, simha = lion).
5.Vamana, the Dwarf Brahmin (priest).
6.Parashurama, A Sage,Rama with the axe, who appeared in the Treta Yuga.
7.Rama, Sri Ramachandra, the prince and king of Ayodhya.
8.Krishna (meaning 'blue coloured' or 'all attractive' or the Existence of Bliss,[56]), appeared in the Dwapara Yuga along with his brother Balarama. Balarama is included as the eighth Dasavatara which list Krishna as the source of all avatars, svayam bhagavan (that is also as the Lord)
9.Buddha, the thinker. (See Gautama Buddha in Hinduism)
10.Kalki ("Eternity", or "timeless",destroyer of time or "The Destroyer of foulness"), who is expected to appear at the end of Kali Yuga, the time period in which we currently exist

From the school of Vaishnavism, we describe three main beautiful and different forms, or aspects, of Vishnu as Maha Vishnu, Garbhodaksayi Vishnu and Kshirodakasayi Vishnu, with each form having a different role in the maintenance of the Universe and its inhabitants............

"For material creation, Lord Krishna's plenary expansion assumes three Vishnus. The first one, Maha-Vishnu, creates the total material energy, known as the mahat-tattva. The second, Garbhodakasayi Vishnu, enters into all the universes to create diversities in each of them. The third, Kshirodakasayi Vishnu, is diffused as the all-pervading Supersoul in all the universes and is known as Paramatma. He is present even within the atoms. Anyone who knows these three Vishnus can be liberated from material entanglement."

Best Wishes,

Dinesh R Makwana MREC

Bhagvan Ramdevji Maharaj was a Tunvar Rajput regarded by Hindus as the incarnation of Lord Krishna. History goes that five Pirs from Mecca came to test his miraculous powers and after being convinced, paid their homage to him. Since then he is venerated by Muslims as Ramshahpir or Ramapir.

I just caught your "Voice of Hinduism" on MahaShiva Ratri this past Saturday. How very simply yet deeply Dr. Doobay talked about Shiva being our innermost self and yet connected to the universe. It was on a high spiritual level. The talk had deep personal meaning for me. I decided to check out the website and I am impressed. So many resources for those who are following the path of Sanatana Dharma. Thank you. Many blessings to all of you at the Temple.

Namaste!

Vishnu Mandir is truly one of its kind in the area which is truly aligned to our culture and religion. I love to visit the temple with my family on Sundays. The programs are very well delivered.

The only area where I would love to see some improvement is to see the volunteers more polite with the people. I was disappointed with some personal experience during Sunday Arti, and unfortunately heard similar comment from one of my family friend. Sometimes couple of rude people spoil the entire environment and Mandir should be cautious about placing these volunteers particularly during large aggregations (like Sunday session).

Otherwise, I am proud to be part of the community and look forward to its growth and prosperity.

regards,
Sanjiv

I attended the performance given by the Geetanjeli Sangeet Academy. What a treat! More than a treat, that I came away thinking that with parents and youths like this, our Dharma and Culture will be presevered in this foreign land just like our forefathers preserved ours in the West Indies.

These children must be encouraged and given opportunities to constantly showcase their talents. These are our future for tomorrow. Let's see more of this.

Wouldn't it be nice to include a Youth Kirtan Group on Sunday mornings, maybe before the 10:00 am group comes in and sometimes during also.

I am sure that the youths will feel a sense of privilege if they could accompany Dr.Doobay on occasions.

I am not a parent, just a strong supporter of our Dharma!
